If your teen is anxious to start making some money of his or her own, and you are stuck for ideas, here are some teen money making making ideas that your child can implement to get some extra spending money for themselves.
One major thing that needs to be done no matter what time of year it is, is yard work. In the winter, people do not want to have to shovel snow, so if someone in the neighborhood (like your teen) is willing to shovel snow for everyone, then they will probably pay him (or her) to do it for them. If it is fall, the leaves will be all over everyone’s lawn and so if your child has some trash bags and a rake (a small investment for a business) then they can start making some money raking people’s leaves. Plus, if he goes out and offers his service when the leaves first start falling, and he does a good job, then more leaves should be falling and they’ll be able to go out again and rake more leaves and earn even more money.
During the spring and summer, the grass starts growing faster and so if your child is willing to mow lawns, they can get paid to go take care of people’s lawns. Since grass can grow quick some times, if they do a good job, they can do it for someone every couple of weeks and have a steady summer job.
Another of the popular money making ideas for teens is babysitting. People like to go out every once in a while, especially people with kids since they aren’t able to often. If your child can be trustworthy, they’ll be cheaper than a regular nanny, so it will work out for both your teen and the people they are babysitting for. Plus, this can be a job that they may be able to do their homework at still so it won’t cut into their studies.
No matter which route your child follows, there are definitely jobs around people’s houses that they don’t necessarily want to do themselves so they would be more than willing to pay your teen to do it for them.
