Posted by: Tracy M. in From Home Businesses, Home Based Businesses, Online AuctionsStarting a home based business has become so much easier with the advent of the internet. All that you need to create is your own website selling the products; or create an eBay store where people can log in and have a look at your products for sale. Creating a website proves to be beneficial to the person having various types of products or services for others to use. It is also the right choice for a full time business, and not only a one-time transaction for one time selling of goods.
The eBay store is the right option for those who intend to sell things randomly, not necessarily in bulk. It could be individual or special items made available for sale. Creating a website takes some time, and it is necessary to have some computer knowledge to create a website. However, creating an eBay store is comparatively easier. However, there are still people out there who do not like the process of creating eBay stores, perhaps because they may not have a merchant account or because they are just not technologically skilled.
This is where you can offer your services of creating eBay stores for such people who have things to sell, but no technological expertise of creating one. There is not much to do to create an eBay store, although it is a bit more involved than one of those work from home licking envelopes jobs. Once you have a merchant account, that is available online, you can create eBay stores just by logging on to their site. Following their instructions is sufficient to start an eBay store and you just place the items to sell in the eBay store.
What you should offer such clients, would be for them to drop off their items and to fill out a form giving a description of each item to sell, and the expected price for it. You then have to fill out the forms you find on eBay. Once you list the items on eBay, you will have to start mailing out the availability of these things to potential buyers. Of course, this is not a necessity; but with this, you will receive more sales in the eBay store.
Once you do get a buyer for the product, it is your responsibility to see that the product be safely shipped to their address. The profit for this service is a percentage of the sale of the product. Of course, this has to be an agreed upon amount at the beginning; whether it is a percentage of the sale or a fixed amount. Once you receive the payment, you have to take your share of the earnings and send the remainder to your client.
You can easily run these type of from home businesses; however if you do not like people coming over to your house to drop off things, you can offer to pick the items up. Of course, if you have enough money for investment, you could also consider opening a small office, where all transactions relating to this business would take place.
