If you live anywhere in suburban America you have seen door to door sales forces in full force parading the area selling everything from pest control to security systems. I would know, I have spent my share of summers doing it. This last summer I was asked to sell pest control in North Carolina, and the owner of the branch there chose not to make the investment into identification badges via neck lanyards. I tried several time to convince him that presentation at the door was key and being able to point to more than just a logo on a tee shirt in an effort to gain a level of trust with the customer.
Despite my best efforts he declined and as a result I was left to identify my self in this high intensity identification theft world. Out of every 10 people I spoke with I would say at least 5 of them either asked for a card, or some sort of ID. At that point in the sale the level of trust is already gone, there is no coming back and the sale is lost. If someone came to your door and had an ID badge with their local municipalities certification and a photo, how much more likely would you be to at least listen to the pitch.
If you own a business where trust needs to be gained early and often than you need to make the investment of ID badge neck lanyards. They will do 3 simple things to help put your customer at ease.
1 – They let the customer know they work for the business and identify them as help not another customer.
2 – Because the lanyard is at neck level it will allow any patron to see your logo directly in their line of sight.
3 – With an ID badge or any other graphic that conveys a sense of pride and happiness about the business will help both the employee and the customer fully appreciate your business position.
