From Home Businesses | Dog Walk Locations Make Money

Are you an animal lover?  You probably already know then that many areas and community parks do not allow people to walk dogs on their grounds.  Vacation sites, apartment listings, and any other reference material letting people know where dogs are welcomed are greatly in demand.  This is where you come in!

Write a book or offer an online reference site that lets people know where their beloved canines are allowed to walk or play!  You would need to do a little research to find out where dogs ARE allowed and then you could create a map of sites or locations that dogs are welcomed.

Clearly mark out on easy to read maps and perhaps give a brief description of each location, to let dog walkers know what the terrain and personality of each location offers.

  • Are there clearly marked paths or places that they can let the dogs run free for a bit?
  • Is there a designated dog park nearby?
  • Is it a beach that allows dogs to run along the sand with, or without, their owners?
  • Are small dogs allowed, but larger dogs discouraged?

These are the kinds of places that dog owners and professional dog walkers need to know about in order to decide the best places to walk their pets, they would love to know about these various places.

Providing photos is another way to get your readers excited about visiting a new dog walking location.  Show photos of particularly scenic locations that dog walkers would enjoy with their canine, as well as locations where many dogs can be seen friskily playing together.  This will make the locations seem even more inviting.

You will need to decide if you would want to make your information a reference guide for just locals or if you want to expand your scope to include the best locations for your state or even areas across the United States!  You could even make listings for popular vacation destinations in other countries!

If you decide to specialize in just your state of residence, you can spend time driving around and scouting out possible walking locations.  Are there signs posted?  Are dogs allowed only if there feces are removed or are they allowed free reign?  Visit different communities and ask around.  Networking with park rangers and other park staff is a great way to find out about these kinds of locations.

Be sure to also run searches online to find references to local spots that people may chat about in chat rooms, newsgroups, and personal blogs.  Sometimes these are the best places that no one in the general public has heard about yet and your readers will be so grateful to be getting the inside scoop!

You can publish your reference information in book form and make a tidy profit selling it.  You could sell each book for $30 or more.  Choose more than one location to make even more books and more money.  You could also run a website supported by ads that give your dog walking public constantly updated dog walking locations and up-to-date information on any changing rules or restrictions.

You can advertise your dog walking reference guide at local veterinarians’ offices and pet stores.  You may even want to print up flyers letting people know about your reference guide anywhere that pet owners may gather.  This includes grocery stores and coffee shops.  Dog owners are everywhere!  Local Chambers of Commerce would likely be willing to help you advertise your reference guide since it will encourage people to visit their town with their pets!
